Custom baits made to order
Trout

Profiles for current, seams, drifts, and light bites.

Trout baits created and tested on Lake Taneycomo and Table Rock Lake, then proven anywhere trout key on profile, fall, color, and action. Fish them through current seams, tailwater runs, stocked ponds, creeks, docks, and slow winter bites when the bait has to look right and stay in the zone.

Made to drift

Pick a profile that can move naturally through current, glide on the fall, or hold near bottom.

Taneycomo tested

Built around Ozarks trout water, but useful anywhere trout feed in current, ponds, lakes, and creeks.

Custom poured

Match shape, color, size, and action to the day instead of relying on one bait for every trout bite.

Trout baits have to look alive without doing too much.

Trout can be aggressive, but they can also get picky fast. Current speed, light level, fishing pressure, water color, and how the bait falls all matter. A bait that looks good on a shelf does not always fish right when it is drifting through a seam or hanging in front of a trout that has already seen plenty.

The right soft-plastic profile lets you adjust. A slim bait can drift naturally. A ribbed body can add presence and texture. A split tail or taper can keep moving with very little rod action. A compact bait can work when trout are just nipping, while a little more body can help when you need visibility or a stronger target in stained water.

Best around

  • Current seams, tailwater runs, eddies, and slow inside edges.
  • Stocked ponds, creeks, gravel banks, docks, and marina shade.
  • Trout holding near bottom, suspended in current, or cruising shallow flats.
  • Cold water, pressured fish, and light bites where subtle action matters.

Ways to fish them

  • Drift it: let the current move the bait naturally while you manage depth and slack.
  • Swim it slow: use a light head and steady retrieve when trout are following baitfish.
  • Bottom tick: keep light contact near gravel, rock, and current breaks without overworking it.
  • Float rig: hold the bait at a set depth when fish are suspended or feeding in one lane.

Color notes

Trout colors should start with water color and light level, then adjust for pressure. Sometimes they want natural. Sometimes they want a bright target. The trick is knowing when to turn the volume up or down.

Clear water / bright sun Start with pearl, smoke, shad, clear flake, olive, brown, sculpin, and natural baitfish colors.
Stained water / clouds Try white, pink, orange, chartreuse, glow, or stronger flake to help trout track the bait.
Low light / deeper runs Use contrast: darker silhouettes, bright tails, black, orange, chartreuse, or two-tone patterns.
Pressure / cold fronts Back down to natural or muted colors, slow the bait down, and let profile and fall do more of the work.
